FDA Response and Remediation
We help you answer FDA's observations with real root causes, corrective actions backed by evidence, and commitments your site can keep, delivered inside the 15 business days that decide whether FDA considers your response before acting.
"Keep it Simple. Keep it Real."
What you get
FDA reviewers read hundreds of responses. The ones that work show that the company understood the observation, found the real cause, looked for the same problem elsewhere, and fixed it with evidence. This is what we help you produce.
For each observation: what was found, the investigation, the root cause, the correction, the corrective and preventive actions, the evidence, and the dates. In the order and format reviewers expect.
Every observation is checked for the same failure in other products, lines and procedures. A response that fixes only the example FDA found is the most common reason a warning letter follows a 483.
Dates and deliverables sized to what your team can actually do, with monthly or quarterly updates scheduled if the work runs past the response.
Help doing the work the response promises: procedures, validation, training, and an independent check that the fixes held.
How It Runs
Within days of the closing meeting, a read of each observation, its regulatory weight, and what a credible response needs. The plan and the outline come first.
Investigations and root-cause work with your team, then the response drafted for your signature, with the evidence attached and indexed.
The response goes to FDA on time. We then help complete the commitments and prepare the update letters.
Scope
FDA Form 483 responses after drug, OTC drug, dietary supplement, food and cosmetic inspections. Warning letter responses, which are due in 15 working days and carry more weight. Untitled letters, regulatory meeting preparation, and the follow-up update letters FDA expects when remediation runs longer than the response period.
We do not write responses that promise what the site cannot do, and we do not dress up a correction as a root cause. Reviewers can tell the difference, and a response that over-promises becomes the evidence in the next action.
See the warning letter response playbook for how the process works, and the mock FDA inspection for testing whether the fixes hold before FDA returns.
Price And Terms
Every engagement is priced in writing after a free 30-minute call and before any work starts. On-site work is scheduled in full days; travel from Salt Lake City is billed at cost, with no markup, after the visit. You own every report and record we produce.
The response is quoted as a fixed fee within a day of seeing the observations. Remediation work is quoted once the response has fixed its scope.
A Form 483 response starts at $5,000 and a warning letter response at $12,000. The fee depends on the number and weight of the observations, and is quoted in writing within a day of seeing them. Remediation work that the response commits to is quoted separately.
There is no legal deadline, but FDA considers a response it receives within 15 business days of the inspection's close before deciding on further action such as a warning letter. Respond inside that window.
It is not required by law, but not responding is almost never wise. A good response can keep a 483 from becoming a warning letter. Silence tells FDA you do not take the observations seriously.
A Form 483 lists an investigator's observations at the end of an inspection. A warning letter is an agency decision that the company is in significant violation, published on FDA's website, and it can be followed by import alerts, seizures or injunctions. Warning letter responses are due in 15 working days.
It can help draft one, and we use AI tools in our own work. FDA has also cited a manufacturer for releasing AI-written procedures without qualified review. The response has to reflect a real investigation, by people who can stand behind it, and that part cannot be generated.
